Bespoke Commissions 4

This is one of my favourite commissions. The piece was ordered by the husband and wife as a baby present for their first child.

The mother wanted some reminder of her antique collector father who had passed away. She showed me an old box full of keys that had belonged to him. So we chose a key together. I made it up in 18ct yellow gold and embellished it with a few diamonds for a bit of sparkle. The key is small but solid and therefore has a nice heavy feeling. It is worn with a chain through the top opening.

The key symbolised for them, the key to understanding and opening each other up – as expressed by a great aunt on their wedding day.
